Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently managing the receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products. This role is essential in ensuring that inventory levels are maintained, orders are accurately fulfilled, and shipments are completed on time. The position contributes directly to the smooth operation of the warehouse, supporting the organization’s goals of providing excellent customer service and maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive orders: Unload shipments, verify order accuracy, and ensure all received items are accounted for and stored in the correct locations.
  • Put away stock: Organize and store products in the warehouse according to inventory management guidelines.
  • Pick orders: Accurately retrieve items from inventory to fulfill customer orders based on specified requirements.
  • Pack orders: Properly package products to ensure safe delivery, following packing standards and labeling instructions.
  • Maintain health and safety standards: Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Keep work area clean: Regularly clean and organize the warehouse and work areas to maintain a tidy and efficient space.
  • Schedule shipments: Coordinate with logistics to schedule outgoing shipments and ensure that all orders are shipped on time.
  • Perform cycle counts: Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and report discrepancies to the management team.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse operations or a similar role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic proficiency in using warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and shipping software.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
